Residential
AET provides a solar water heating system to meet almost any residential application, including a retrofit package for pre-existing water heaters.
A direct system, alternately referred to as an "Open-Loop" system, heats the same potable water used within the residence. Water circulation can be either AC or DC controlled. An indirect system, also known as a "Closed-Loop" system, will employ a heat exchanger to transfer heat to the potable water storage. This type of system should be installed in locations where the collectors would be subject to freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. Indirect system circulation can be AC or DC controlled. Drainback systems are indirect, closed-loop systems offering a near maintenance-free operation. Suitable for most residential applications, the drainback system is designed to eliminate the need for costly over-heating and/or freeze-protection devices. FreeFlow systems are "Open Loop" systems operating on the principle of natural convection, employing the thermosiphon process.
FreeFlow systems are available in a glass-lined model (GL) serving as a pre-heater to an existing storage tank or as a stainless steel
(SS) single tank unit with electrical backup integral to the thermosiphon tank. |
